Who we are

A parish family of many nations, one faith

Founded in 1954 by Irish and Italian families, St. Columba is now home to more than 1,200 households who pray in English, Spanish, Tagalog, Italian, Portuguese and Tamil.

Parish life centres on the Eucharist and continues through faith formation, youth ministry, prayer groups and service to neighbours across East York.

Music Ministry

Four choirs, cantors and instrumentalists lead the singing at every weekend Mass. No audition needed for the parish choir, which rehearses Thursday evenings.

Sacramental life

Prepare for the sacraments

Baptisms on the second and fourth Sundays. First Communion in Grade 2, Confirmation in Grade 7. Marriage preparation a year ahead. Anointing whenever it is needed.

Our pastoral team walks with families through each sacrament, with preparation sessions that are practical, prayerful and short. If you are an adult who was never baptized or confirmed, the OCIA journey begins every September.

“Be at peace, and have unfeigned charity among yourselves.”
